Armeni is a beautiful, old village. Its green landscapes will entice you out of the comfort of the Villa, and into the history-filled streets. It was first settled in 961 A.D. and the ancient history is easily seen reflected in its attractions.
The Church of Agio Nikolaos
Located in the heart of Armeni in the Apokoronas province, this church dates from the 11th century and the Byzantine era. The frescoes from the 13th Century are all in their original state. Above the church you can find a small chapel called the Agia Mama, built into a cave.
Drosostalia Tavern
This tavern is much respected in the area, and it’s considered one of the best taverns you can eat at. It’s right in the centre of the village by the beautiful river, with tables by the trees’ shade. The perfectly cooked food will have you return for more, and your kids will love the safe playground nearby.
