Stalos, Crete

7 km west of Chania, the village of Lower Stalos fringes a long, sandy beach with the island of Theodorou, said to be a petrified sea monster, rising from the sea just a short distance off shore Crete.

There are numerous Stalos Villas and apartments as well as half a dozen convenient little mini-markets and an excellent little patisserie, selling delicious fresh baguettes and croissants.

There are also a number of waterside tavernas with shady terraces overlooking the sea and teenagers can chill out at one of the atmospheric palm thatched beach bars. 1km inland the small village of Upper Stalos nestles serenely on the hillside amidst a patchwork of vineyards and olive groves.

Here you will find a slower pace of life as well as a couple of the best local tavernas in the area, both certainly worth a visit or two.

We have offered Villas in Stalos Crete since 1984, so know the area very well, please feel free to call if you have any questions about any of  our Stalos Villas.
