Katelios Villas
A laid back greek seaside village with a gently shelving golden sand and pebble beach, known for its excellent choice of beachside fish tavernas and our selection of Villas in Katelios.
The village settles into the bottom of a wide south facing valley that runs down to the coast, where fertile fields yield a variety of fruit and vegetables including olive trees and Orange groves producing two crops of juicy oranges a year . Interspersed are a scattering of villas in Katelios to rent. A quiet resort in the evening the main entertainment is slowly wandering the beachside road, selecting which of the half dozen beachside tavernas to eat your dinner at. Unsurprisingly for a fishing village, they all serve the freshest of fish as well as a choice of meats, vegetarian Greek specialities and other other tasty delicacies.
There are a couple of rather smart cocktail bars open for coffee in the morning and pre and post meal drinks. There’s also a couple of gift shops and a bakery where the syrupy pastries and other delights are wicked temptations when just calling in for fresh bread cheese pie of the famous Kefalonian meat pies.
Around the bay a quieter shingle and sand beach is furnished with some sunbeds and umbrellas (small charge, sometimes free if you buy drinks from their taverna) and if you take the path over the rocks and around the headland you arrive at a beautiful sandy beach with shallow calm water (or 5 mins by car via the top road) ideal for children and with small groups of sunbeds close to facilities. The extreme ends of the beaches are sufficiently private to acquire an all over sun tan.

Katelios is a 5 mins drive from Mounda & Kaminia beach , where you will find yet another wide sandy beach with a couple of great beachside tavernas, going a little further and you will reach the larger village of Skala, with amazing sandy beach with water-sports and beach beds, plus a selection of beachside bars and tavernas and more traditional tavernas based around the old village square.
