Cala San Vicenc Villas
One of the smallest resorts on Mallorca’s North coast is Cala San Vicenç (Cala San Vincente), a place that has managed to retain much of the laid back air of the simple fishing village it used to be before the arrival of holiday makers. It is built on hillsides of varying levels between some dramatic cliffs that form part of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, which stretches all the way from Andratx in the southwest of Mallorca to Cap de Formentor in the North.
The road to Cala San Vincente gently slopes down to the sea through the dense ancient woods and beautiful countryside that surround the little town. Centred on a series of inlets carved out of the steep rocky coast, there are three sandy beaches in Cala San Vincenç, each retaining its own character.
The town has seen tourism flourish in a low key manner and, aside from a handful of larger hotels, caters mainly for those looking for private villas. It retains an atmosphere of gentility, with little streets lined with villas set in pleasant gardens.
