The 3 Best Beaches in Mallorca

There were far too many beaches in Mallorca to list them all, so we chose the ones that were our personal favourites. For a small island, Mallorca has some stunning beaches. White sand, clear sea, and palm trees – they are not to be missed.

Here at Freelance Villas, we pride ourselves in offering an incredible range of villas with pools in Mallorca. Therefore it’s safe to say that we have expert knowledge of Mallorca, including some of the very best beaches.

Using this information, we have chosen just 3 of our favourite beaches and put them together in a helpful guide for you.

Palmas on the sand

1. Port de Alcudia

Alcudia is extremely popular with tourists holidaying in Mallorca, and one of the main reasons for this is the beach. It actually earned itself a spot on the World’s Best Beaches in 2012, wow!

The Port de Alcudia (or just Alcudia Beach) is the main beach in Alcudia and consists of a long stretch of white sand that stretches for 3.4km along the coastline.

It has shallow water that is ideal for children, making it very popular with families. In fact, the turquoise sea is perfect for anyone to swim in (although if you are wanting deeper water, you might have to walk in quite a bit).

It has easy disabled access, with a wooden walkway at the back of the beach providing easy admission to the sands.

Mallorca

2. Es Trenc Beach

The Es Trenc is a popular beach for those staying in or near to Palma. The beach isn’t attached to a resort like many of the others, so it has an isolated and natural feel. It gets very busy in peak time, as it’s a favourite for families and young people.

Es Trenc is an idyllic long beach of white sand and crystalline waters, roughly 2km long. It has beautiful surroundings, such as sand dunes and scrubland of pines and tamarind trees.

Look out for the animals too! Birds, rabbits and different species of insects are spotted regularly.

Cala Mesquida

3. Cala Mesquida

The Cala Mesquida is located in the north east of Mallorca, and tends to be fairly remote.

The picturesque beach is located in an open bay, which is 350 metres long with sand dunes that extend deep inside. The area that is to the east of the beach is all natural sand dunes and pine trees, with hills in the background that are free from any development.

The sea is a beautiful turquoise colour, which almost feels like you can see right through to the bottom of the sea. These waters are extremely popular with surfers, as the waves are often bigger here than at any other beach in the area.

It’s important to note that the area is protected because of its significant presence of bird life. It is home to one of the largest colonies of cormorants and gulls in all of the Balearics.
